						 <p>Hi there!</p> <p>I'm crazy about light shafts! Many times i had played Doom 3 i was thinking it would be great if flashlight worked more realistic. Crappy flashlight makes doom 3 unenjoyable. I think u would make it much better! I have couple questions about light shafts</p> <p>1) Did u invent algoritm by urself or used some known one?</p> <p>2) Could u write tutorial about implementing light shafts</p> <p>3) Where can i find source code of light shafts? (edit: I'm using the current svn snapshot and build the librarys by myself without any problem)<br /> Unfortunately I can't start the examples (on Windows XP 64 Professional) because it tells me the d3d10.dll is missing. 						 <p>Hi everyone!</p> <p>I've heard that some peoples have problems with opening the nGENE Tech Class Reference ( site errors ), here is the solution step by step:</p> <p>1. Open the "nGENE Tech Class Reference.chm" file<br /> 2. You will propably see the dialog box witch saying something like "This application is dangerous"<br /> 3. You have got 2 Buttons and 1 Check Box<br /> 4. Button1 -&gt; Run, Button2 -&gt; Cancel and CheckBox with saying something about showing this dialogbox again in the next run of this file.<br /> 4.1. I have got the Polish version of OS so the names of the buttons might be different!<br /> 5. To prevent the "site errors" you should "uncheck" the CheckBox and click Run button.<br /> 6. The application should run properly.</p> <p>The author is working at this problem and in future the problem should disappeard :)</p> <p>Questions? Ask here or mail me ;)</p>

I spott that some peoples have problem with XMLSerialize link errors, I've solve it and I want to help ;)</p> <p>To prevent these errors just open nGENE Proj_VS_9.sln (or nGENE Proj.sln if you using other VS version) and add following files into project:</p> <p>XMLSerialize.h -&gt; Header Files -&gt; Utilities -&gt; File System<br /> XMLSerialize.cpp -&gt; Source Files -&gt; Utilities -&gt; File System</p> <p>Compile the whole engine project again, coppy the engine .lib files and it's should run properly.</p> <p>I hope I help ;)</p> <p>To author: Please check for this error and update SVN repository.</p> <p>PS: Sorry for my unprofesional english…<br /> PS2: Questions? 						 <p>Hi,</p> <p>The video demos of the nGene Tech engine look impressive, and the work so far looks very good, especially for a solo developer. I would like to try the demo but am having trouble with the download link, it lists the SDK folders as web links and it seems each file must be downloaded seperately. I see there is a way to also compile from the repository but the instructions seem to indicate you should download the SDK first. My apologies if I'm missing something obvious but I've been away from C++ for a few years. I also tried downloading the toolset but on running the exe an error "Could not find a part of the path 'H:/Inne/nGene/lib" was given, I don't have an H:/ drive, and I'm assuming perhaps the engine dependencies should first be installed. I'm sure this is a minor thing, but look forward to testing out the demo,</p> <p>cheers,</p> <p>Adrian.</p>

						 <p>After having troubles getting nGENE to work previously I decided to persevere and give it another go. I deleted my previous download of nGENE and downloaded the SVN again. The SVN already contained nGENE.dll in nGENE\bin\release\, but after compiling the engine myself, which I obviously needed to do to get the libs, I now have a new version of the dll, which doesn't match the existing one from the SVN.<br /> I renamed the one that I compiled myself to nGENEnew.dll, and restored the old nGENE.dll from the SVN. The supplied dll is 1128&nbsp;KB, and the one I compiled is 1143&nbsp;KB. Which one should I now use?</p> <p>cheers,<br /> CJackson</p>

I'm asking this because I've thought about PSSM.<br /> What I'd do is, setting up a new camera which is just for PSSM and calculate the position in which i need to render. Now I guess nGene would render all the textures which are needed for the deferred system but I'd only need the depth map. 						 <p>Hi!</p> <p>I'm having some issues to get nGene running from the svn. Currently I'm compiling it on vista64 and visual studio 2008.</p> <p>There are some very weird things happening.</p> <p>Compiling nGene and the framework in debug or release works without problems but when I run a sample in debug mode I get a "faulting module in ntdll.dll". Yeah, I know. Great error message, it would be enough if he just tells me "erm…error but I can't tell you where" :)</p> <p>But, if I compile the samples in release mode and use the release files from nGene and the framework the thing runs again without problems with the exception of 2 samples:</p> <p>- Terrain: Has some bad_alloc errors in the matrix class, at least this tells me the dissassembly. As I'm running in release mode it's difficult to tell. It's happening definately when the terrain/heightmap is loaded<br /> - Lua sample: Release mode works, debug he's telling me that type_info is no element of std (Again, great error :) )</p> <p>Maybe you can help me out. Aha dodam jeszcze, że tak samo dzieje się z tutorialem 2.2, też jest fatal error.</p>
